WHOLE-HOUSE SYSTEMS FAQ’S
For systems with a 10-inch tank using our SilverShield® HYgene® carbon filter, you'll need a filter change every 112,500 gallons, or roughly every 12-18 months for a family of four. Systems with an 8-inch tank require a change every 75,000 gallons, while those with a 12-inch tank need one every 150,000 gallons. Our iGen® series will tell you when to change the filter with a “Call for service” message. For older systems, you'll have to guess when to do maintenance based on your family size and water use. Also, remember to refill the salt in salt-backflushing systems, keeping the tank at least half full.
ChloroShield™ Clearess® filters last up to 20 years. SilverShield® HYgene® filters need replacing after 112,500 gallons. For Clarius™ and Goodspring™ systems, change the Purifex® media when you change the SilverShield® HYgene®. In 10” Goodspring™ systems with ScaleMax™, replace ScaleMax™ every 5 years or after 375,000 gallons. In 13” Goodspring™ systems with ScaleMax™, it’s every 6 years or 500,000 gallons. The iGen® series tells you when to change filters with a “Call for service” alert. Without an iGen® valve, you’ll have to guess when to do maintenance based on water usage.
